You rejected him (kindly, but still..) He's keeping his emotions in check so if you decide you really arent interested in a few weeks, he won't be hurt again. Perfectly normal defense mechanism. I wouldn't take offense. You just may have to work a little harder to prove you mean what ur saying. You're conversation def indicates that's he's hopeful, but prob won't put too much effort into the beginning. Does that make any sence?
