What are some unusual mythical creatures?

I'm writing a book. Theres all these books about vampires, and werewolves, fairies, ghosts, zombies, and whatever. What are some other unusual things that a human could secretly be? Nothing like a centaur or Frankenstein please. It can be something you made up, or something you didn't. :)
