How did you teach your baby to sleep through the night?

My 6 month old sleeps 4 hours at the most in one stretch. She wakes and wants a bottle. She wont take a pacifier and is back to sleep in about 10 minutes, but this interrupted sleep thing is taking its toll on me! If i dont go into her, she screams and cries hysterically. I dont know what to do. Any advice on what worked for you?
