The problem is going to be that both of their rankings will continue to fall to some of the more recent names in the game simply because the game is continuing to change. Most teams have always focussed more on the run than the p. Now teams are winning in p-first offenses and being successful (statistically anyway). Take a look at Marvin Harrison. His averages right now blow away those of the guy most consider to be the best ever to play the game - Jerry Rice. It's not even close. The numbers being put up by WRs in the past are going to continue to pale against many more as we move toward the future.
